Albuquerque Death Cafe

January 20 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

ABQ Death Cafe tea service

Saturday, January 20, 2018, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This New Year, think about experiencing a Death Cafe as one of your bucket list items. Relax over some coffee or tea, some cake or cookies. Join in a group discussion to talk about what’s on your mind about mortality issues. Participants always give the event high marks!

The next Albuquerque Death Cafe will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2018, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Gail Rubin’s home. If you haven’t been before, RSVP to Gail [at] for the address and directions. An expression of interest is always appreciated.

The objective of the Death Cafe is “To increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives.” It’s all about an interesting, unstructured conversation – open and free-flowing with no specific agenda. Refreshments will be provided at this free event. Donations are gratefully accepted.

Albuquerque was the site of the second Death Cafe ever held in the United States. Gail Rubin hosted this pioneering event in September of 2012. More information about Death Cafes here.

Gail Rubin interviewed Jon Underwood, founder of the Death Cafe, and Lizzy Miles, who held the first Death Cafe in the U.S. in Columbus, Ohio. Listen to the podcast of this hour-long A Good Goodbye Internet radio program.
